Residential or outpatient: which suits you?
A clear answer from the Restart team — reviewed November 2026.
Residential care suits moderate to severe cases, people who need distance from their environment, or those whose earlier attempts failed. Outpatient or online care suits stable cases who can keep to sessions with support at home.
- Residence at Restart: usually 2–4 months
- Outpatient: 5 private + 5 training + 5 group sessions a week
- The assessment recommends the path
When should I choose residence?
With repeated relapse, a trigger-heavy environment, a co-occurring condition, or a need for daily supervision.
When is outpatient enough?
When the person is stable, motivated and supported by family, and needs to keep working or studying.
