Where we start

Addiction doesn't come from nowhere — so we treat what lies beneath it.

Addiction starts with a reason — stress, emptiness or impulsivity — and then becomes a source of problems in its own right. Many people also live with a co-occurring mental health condition. So we treat what lies beneath the addiction, not the use alone.

We also know the limits of our role: we stabilise recovery, put the person on the right road and give intensive treatment that leaves them able to continue on their own. The recommended length is 100 days; the ideal is six months.

Diagnosis, follow-up and supportive medication when needed.

03

Psychological & behavioural therapy

Individual and group CBT, grief work, coping skills.

04

Recovery coaching

Practical steps, responsibility and staying power.

05

Physical & nutrition

Daily gym, nutrition plan, calorie-counted meals, sleep regulation.

06

Spiritual

Spiritual support as an integral part of the model.

07

Family involvement

Family specialists, a weekly session, the Quiet Homes program.

08

Reintegration & follow-up

Open setting, daily activities, a companion for the return, aftercare and community.

Dual diagnosis

When addiction and a mental health condition occur together.

Many people with a substance use disorder also live with anxiety, depression, trauma or other conditions. Treating one without the other raises the risk of relapse. That is why the psychiatrist, psychotherapist and recovery specialist work on the same plan.

Depending on clinical need, the Restart clinic offers quantitative EEG (QEEG), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), neurofeedback and pharmacogenetic testing — used only when the physician recommends them after assessment.

These technologies are supporting tools within a treatment plan — not a substitute for psychological and behavioural therapy — and are not suitable for everyone.

FAQ

Questions about our approach

How long does addiction treatment take?
It depends on the case. Residential care usually lasts 2–4 months, and online programs run for 100 days. We recommend at least 100 days; the ideal is six months including follow-up.
Do you use medication?
A psychiatrist may prescribe supportive medication when clinically needed, within an integrated plan and with medical follow-up. No medication is used without assessment.
What is dual diagnosis?
It means having a substance use disorder alongside another mental health condition such as depression, anxiety or PTSD. Treating both together is central to our approach.
Can addiction be treated without a hospital?
Many mild to moderate cases can be treated through outpatient or online programs. Some, however, need medical supervision for withdrawal — particularly with alcohol and sedatives. The assessment determines the safe path.
